Certificate validation has always been a big problem for the certification and accreditation industry.
When you're deciding whether or not to work with a business that claims to be ISO certified, it's important to make sure their certificate is genuine and not a forgery that they mocked up and printed out themselves.
But this can be surprisingly difficult to verify. You could contact the accreditation body and ask them for confirmation - but it won't always be possible to get hold of them right away, especially if they're based in another country.
That's why we at ISO Accelerator launched the Scan and See© authentication system in early 2021.
All of the certificates we issue have a unique digital 'countermark' that can be scanned using the Countermark mobile app. The code looks like this:
When you scan a certificate, the Countermark app will instantly tell you whether that certificate is valid. If so, you will receive a copy of the certificate via email.
Benefits of Scan and See©
- Global authentication - this verification method can be used anywhere in the world
- Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round
- Instant verification - why wait to find out whether that certificate is valid?
- No need to contact accreditation bodies directly
