About ISO 27001:2022
ISO 27001:2022 is the internationally-recognised standard for information security management systems (ISMS). 2022 Amendments
ISO 27001:2022 replaced the previous version of this standard, ISO 27001:2013. The main changes in the 2022 version were:
- Annex controls: The Annex A was restructured and the overall number of controls has decreased from 114 controls in 14 categories to 93 controls across four core categories: organisational, people, physical, and technological.
- Title: The standard’s full name was changed from ‘ISO/IEC 27001: Information Technology Security Techniques’ to ‘ISO/IEC 27001: Information Security, Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection’.
- Management clauses: The management clauses (4-10) underwent minor changes, particularly revolving around planning and defining process criteria, as well as monitoring standards.
