There is a common misconception in the United Kingdom that certifications to ISO standards (in particular ISO 9001) can only be issued by UKAS-accredited certification companies. This is not correct, and clarification can even be found on the UKAS website explaining this fact.

While UKAS is this country’s national accreditation body, their level of accreditation and oversight may not be the best fit for British companies looking to get certified to an ISO standard.
