National treasure David Attenborough delivered a truly heart-wrenching speech to the UN Security Council yesterday as he warned "it's already too late" to prevent the effects of climate change.

Attenborough went on to say that he doesn't envy the position that governments find themselves in because "we have left the stable and secure climatic period that gave birth to our civilisations".

He's calling for people to re-think their daily actions to help cut global emissions to "net zero". In order for us to achieve this, there needs to be a dramatic reduction in harmful gases and pollution being released into our atmosphere. So, we all need to take steps to live in more conscious, greener ways.

An eco-friendly certification option

Here at ISO Accelerator, we offer a remote ISO certification service that allows businesses to gain their certification while keeping emissions to a minimum.

Our service can be completed without anyone ever traveling to or from your business, meaning your certification with ISO Accelerator will have an overall lower impact on the environment than certifications provided by other (non-remote) assessment bodies.

We can help you develop a suitable management system, conduct an audit of this system, and award you your certificates remotely. Not only does this have some pretty considerable benefits during the COVID-19 pandemic, but it also has a positive impact on the environment. A real win-win!

Brexit seems to have been on everyone's minds for as long as we can remember, but it looks like things are finally coming to a head. At the beginning of January, MPs gave their backing for a withdrawal agreement bill that will see the UK leave the EU on January 31st. So, with this in mind, many UK businesses are starting to consider their relationship with the US.

The relationship between the UK and the USA has always been one of mutual support, but once Brexit is over with, we can expect this to strengthen even more. US president, Donald Trump is said to be "excited" about the closer post-Brexit relations that are likely to develop over the coming months. Meanwhile, our own Prime Minister is prioritising a trade deal with the US and plans to get this underway as soon as possible.

Total Waste Removal is a provider of waste/rubbish removal services to Hampshire and the surrounding areas. We have worked with Total Waste Removal before, helping them achieve their ISO 9001 certification in 2018. They recently contacted the ISO Accelerator team again to enquire about getting their ISO 14001 certification, and we were only too delighted to help!

What is ISO 14001 certification?

ISO 14001 is an international standard that demonstrates that a company is working to particular environmental standards. To do this, it lays out a framework that a company, like Total Waste Removal, can follow. Many companies opt to integrate this standard into their existing ISO 9001 standard to help them complete organisational goals.

How will it impact their business?

With this valuable environmental certification under their belts, Total Waste Removal are far more likely to win bigger, more high-profile jobs with blue chip clients who deal with high quality and widely accepted products and services! It was a pleasure to work with Total Waste Removal again to help them achieve this.
